Motion Concepting and Graphics for Yardbird's Digital Storefront

Spearheading the Website's Art Direction

While in-house at Yardbird, I led the art direction and animated graphics for the company’s website redesign, focusing on key landing pages such as the homepage, our story, sustainability, and quality pages. We partnered with New York-based design agency zero.nyc to revamp Yardbird’s Shopify-based digital storefront, ensuring the new site reflected the brand’s commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship. This redesign included the creation of several animated graphics that aligned with Yardbird’s updated visual identity.

Repurposing Handcrafted Stop-Motion for Yardbird’s Digital Experience

The Yardbird creative team partnered with award-winning stop-motion animator Tucker Barrie, known for his work on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, to create a short film using Yardbird’s raw materials and deconstructing one of its signature swivel chairs. To extend the impact of this project, I edited the raw still frames, removing backgrounds and creating seamless animation loops for Yardbird’s website landing pages, bringing a uniquely handcrafted element to Yardbird’s digital presence.

Interactive Motion Design and Illustration

I conceptualized, motion-tested, illustrated, and animated a range of engaging graphics, including interactive, scroll-based experiences and vector-based Lottie animations. To maintain a cohesive brand look, I also guided the zero.nyc team in the art direction of additional illustrations. These animations helped bring Yardbird’s story to life, creating a more dynamic and immersive user experience across the site.
